Dr Aimee Byrne is the E3 Assistant Professor in Climate Adaptation Engineering in the School of Civil, Structural & Environmental Engineering at Trinity College Dublin. With a foundational background in Civil and Structural Engineering, Aimee has dedicated her research to sustainable buildings since 2009. Her work covers a wide spectrum including; retrofit strategies, new material development, building physics, energy monitoring and modelling, and structural and thermal testing. Aimee is a respected leader in the field, currently serving on the Board for DYNASTEE (the EU network for Dynamic Analysis, Simulation and Testing of buildings) and Working Groups for COST Action CircularB. She has acted as a Principal Investigator on several high-impact projects, including current ones; SAOLwood (on Irish timber construction), BIO-RACE (developing new bio-based modular panels), and PREDICT (examining the energy performance gap in buildings).
