Waqas Ahmad is currently pursuing a PhD in Civil Engineering at the Technological University Dublin, where his research focuses on the development of novel bio-based composite materials for sustainable and modular construction applications (BIO-RACE). He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering and has gained experience across research, teaching, and industry-oriented projects. As a Research Assistant on the PUreTex project, Waqas is responsible for the thermal and mechanical testing of innovative recycled textile materials, evaluating their suitability and performance for use in construction applications. His research interests include sustainable construction materials, circular economy solutions, biocomposites, material testing, and low-carbon building technologies.
